Gyokuran was a quiet gentleman, unlike the Jinpaichi that we all know in modern life :). He and Shion were friends and had known each other from childhood. But they were also rivals for a girl's love. Gyokuran was also a strong ESPer and because he couldn't control his powers really well, he needed to wear special earrings. He cried when Shukaido pierced his ears. ^^;;

He was also the first one to die... His death had a big impact on the rest, espeially Enju...
